Last night was the 2013 Billboard music awards which were held live from Las Vegas. I unfortunately missed them but a few friends were messaging me about Miguel’s performance. And it’s closer to the end so please watch with caution. For some reason my stomach does twirls when I see it because it looks PAINFUL.

I also heard that the Bieb’s was boo’d lol. I don’t really dislike the Bieb’s but some of the ish he’s pulling is like REALLY? now I know kid’s shouldn’t worship or look towards celebrities as role models but damn, he is. He’s a young artist who hails from Canada and has become this mega superstar…now he’s effin’ hoes and rolling joints? come on now. Regardless ….he is NOT a thug. No tattoo in this world would give him ANY KIND of street cred. So just stick with what you do best. Singing and dancing and being simple. We like simple. 

It’s been a long time since I’ve really updated my blog. Everything in my life has just become so busy. Every week I find myself saying “ok next week I will get into a routine” but I never do. It’s not because I don’t want to, it’s just because things keep adding to the pile lol. I have been so blessed thus far in not burning out. As most of you know I have gone back to school. I’m currently taking event management as I want to be an event planner. I have always loved planning events, from the small details to the initial shock to that one person that realizes that this lavish party is for them. I am currently enrolled in full time classes and basically its a gong show. My Wednesday and Thursdays would make the average person want to puke as I have a 14 hour day. Not only am I in school but I also hold a part time job that makes me die inside every time I step foot through the door lol. Ok that’s kind of dramatic, I am grateful that I have a job but you know that feeling when you’re just working to work? This job is so far from my end goal that it pains me to work sometimes. Honestly the only thing that keeps me going is knowing that one day I’ll graduate and secondly, I am able to do homework and research while I’m there. And to add to that I recently started up an event planning business with my good friend Tunc (pronounced toonch). It’s super exciting knowing that I eventually will be my own boss. It’s really hard though, balancing everything…sometimes even I think “shit how is this gonna work?” but it really don’t feel like work. For the most part Tunc and I are able to bounce ideas back and forth. We do work well together. There’s a lot of laughs between us and a lot of hard work that even surprises us lol. We haven’t technically launched yet as our website is currently in the process of being built, but as I tell him all the time “lets take our time”. It’s not a hundred meter sprint its a long distance marathon. I am so excited but scared shitless. We’re not playing with fake money anymore lol. It’s real. Shit became mad real when all the contacts were signed and we were in the bank opening up an account lol. And to add to all of this, balancing a healthy relationship with my family, friends, and my mister. Shit is tough. I haven’t even seen my friends in ages. Mind you, I did let them know that “hey, for one year you may only see me a handful of times”, hopefully they understand. Mister is also having to take a back seat. He himself is super busy and adding to that mix, my job and business, we barely see each other as is. Let’s just say, shout out to Apple for making facetime and the iphone. We would be going crazy without it. 

Anyways, last week was a gong show. I was part of the graduation committee for this years grad. Let’s just say, everything we planned did NOT go the way it should have lol. It’s amazing that my school has been hosting graduations for the last 6 years (at this particular campus) and they still don’t have a basis on how it should go. It’s difficult when the ‘lead organizer’ is not a planner herself. I use quotations for lead organizer as she didn’t really organize anything. She pretty much said yes and or no, and looked to us for confirmation. At the end of the day, the only people who knew it was a gong show was the actual committee, there were a few noticeable mistakes however it was pretty awesome. It’s amazing because our committee at first wasn’t close, I mean we barely even talked to each other during class. At the end of that Thursday, we pretty much solidified a bond. We made things work, we got it done. I am so proud to be a part of that team. And staff even mentioned that our school has NEVER seen a graduation like that before. They were impressed. Go team go!

Things don’t happen overnight….it’s a long process. Those who don’t give up usually get their times to shine. Tiara started at age 12….and don’t get it twisted: talent + smarts + hard work + meeting people + networking = your chance.

Last night I couldn’t sleep, probably because of the time difference and I found myself searching music on YouTube. So I have been stuck on JoJo’s version of Marvin’s Room by Drake and I stumbled on Teyana’s version from a few years back and this trumps everything I have heard up until now. 

Can we talk about Teyana’s vocals for a minute? So maybe it’s because where I’m located (Vancouver….holla!) that I don’t hear much about Teyana but dios mio her vocals are AMAZING! The grit and soul and the tone….and not to mention her musicality!
