Episode One

Reel Recognize Real Episode One: “What is one musical record that changed your life?”
I can’t narrow it down to one but: If I can hit play and just sit there and just listen. If the artist can paint a picture with words and a melody and I can see what they see visually. If I’m taken on this journey through emotions and stories. If you can have me say “gaddddddamn” or “shit ya!”. If you can get my head to bob and make me call on my friends and be like “yo yo you NEED to listen to this”. If, from the first beat my heart drops or starts to race. If you have me put it on repeat ten thousand times just so I can remember the words. If I start visualizing choreography or music video treatments. If I cry.

Music….oh Music
Ever since I could remember I have been heavily rooted in music. I absolutely adore music. I can remember to this day the very first song I remember singing along to, it was Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. There was something so powerful about that record, from the purity to the care free vocals to the power. Clearly I was too young to understand the contents behind it but I knew from that day, my love and fascination for music would out grow any other hobby. To this day I still buy CDs (Yes I download off Itunes) but I still love checking out what new on Tuesdays, opening up the package and reading the “thank you’s”. The “Thank You’s” at the back of the insert always made me dream and visualize who I would thank if I had my own record.
You see, there is nothing in this world that can make you feel the hurt, the love, the joy and the pain like music. Music is universal.
I want to shout out ALL the artists from the time that I was born (1982) until now who heavily shaped my love for music. To all the writers and producers who wrote that song that always make me feel like it was meant for me. To all the artists out there who are not signed and who remain independent, keep flooding the internet, keep giving us that raw love and passion. To all the artists who are not even discovered yet, remember to always do it for the love and the art of the story. To all the writers who expressed themselves over another artists track, I feel you. To all the haters who hate on artists, appreciate the power and courage it takes to put that pen to the paper and express ones deep thoughts….music is power & music is love.
Music is a story which each writer pens and develops into something we all at one time can appreciate.
In dedication to you, Music…..my first episode.
xoxo

King B: Dance For You
I just wanna show you how much I appreciate you, yes
Wanna show you how much I’m dedicated to you, yes
Wanna show you how much I will forever be true, yes
Wanna show you how much you got your girl feeling good, oh, yes
Wanna show you how much, how much you understood, oh, yes
Wanna show you how much I value what you say,
Not only are you loyal, you’re patient with me babe, oh, yes
Wanna show you how much I really care about your heart,
Wanna show you how much I hate being apart, oh, yes
Show you, show you, show you, till you through with me,
I wanna keep it how it is so you can never say how it used to be!
You’ll never need 2 ‘cause I will be your number 1
Them other chicks are superficial
But I know you know I’m the one
That’s why I’m all into you
‘Cause I can recognize that you know that
That’s why I’m backing this thing back
Pop-popping this thing back
Drop, drop, drop-dropping this thing back
This is for the time you gave me flowers
For the world that is ours
For the mula, for the power of love
And no I won’t never ever e-ever give you up
And I wanna say thank you in case I don’t thank you enough
A woman in the street and a freak in the you know what
Sit back, sit back, it’s the pre-game show
Daddy you know what’s up!
King B is BACK!

Thanks to www.globalgrind.com for sharing these pictures. King B is back and I’m so excited. She is so major and theres a reason why she is one of the greatest. Its been so long since we’ve seen her and have heard her on the radio with new music. Only 5 months since she’s had Blue Ivy she’s back in her stilettos entertaining the masses. I really hope she starts making new music too #teehee
